Information Requests

Free and unrestricted access for any person to public-interest information, as defined by Law no. 544/2001, is one of the fundamental principles governing the relationship between people and public institutions. The ICDG upholds the principles of transparency and of the citizen’s right to information.

Public-interest information means any information concerning, or resulting from, the activities of a public authority or institution, regardless of its medium, form or means of expression.

A written request for public-interest information must state: the public authority/institution to which it is addressed; the information requested; and the applicant’s name, surname and signature, together with the address at which the reply is to be received.
