Dr. Octavian Bucur, Director General of the CGDI, and Dr. Mircea Crețu, Bioinformatics Coordinator of the CGDI, represented Romania at the Genome of Europe meeting in Milan, on 23 May 2025.
Romania is an active part of this European project through the Institute for Research and Development in Genomics (ICDG), as an official partner.
On this occasion, CGDI representatives initiated a collaboration with partners in Germany on the training of specialists in bioinformatics and computational genomics. Discussions were also held on the validation of the sequencing workflow and genomic analysis pipelines developed at the CGDI according to European consortium standards. The sequencing validation process will be coordinated by Dr. Ivo Gut, Director of the Centro Nacional de Análisis Genómico in Spain.
