


The Institute for Research-Development in Genomics (ICDG) was represented at the XXV Congress of the Romanian Society of Child and Adolescent Neurology and Psychiatry (SNPCAR) and at the 47th National Conference of Child and Adolescent Neurology, Psychiatry and Associated Professions, held in Brasov, Romania, on September 24-27, 2025.
During the event, Prof. Dr. Maria Puiu, a geneticist and Deputy Director General of the CGDI, gave a presentation entitled:
" Genomics in pediatric neurology: the role of the Institute for Research-Development in Genomics in access to genetic diagnosis".
The paper addressed the contribution of the Institute in the development and implementation of modern genomic solutions applied in the diagnosis of pediatric neurological disorders, highlighting the importance of collaboration between basic research and medical practice.
It also highlighted the role of the CGDI in facilitating access to genomic diagnostics through its research infrastructure and multidisciplinary expertise.
The participation of Prof. Dr. Maria Puiu highlights the active involvement of the CGDI in promoting interdisciplinary research and in strengthening collaboration between specialists in the fields of genomics, neurology and pediatric psychiatry, with the aim of improving access to precision genomic diagnosis for children and adolescents in Romania.
