Genomics brings local solutions with global impact for rare disease patients!
At the Conference "Integrated Care for Patients with Rare Diseases - Local Solutions, Global Impact" (Zalău, September 20-21, 2025), the Institute for Research-Development in Genomics (ICDG) was present through Prof. Univ. Dr. Maria Puiu and Adrian Nicolae Buzatu.
We talked about Romania's participation in European reference networks and the transformative role of genomics: shortening the "diagnostic odyssey", faster access to personalized treatments and evidence-based public policies.
Together with the National Alliance for Rare Diseases Romania (ANBRaRo) and APWR (NoRo Centre), we are demonstrating that partnerships between research, clinicians and patient organizations are the key to building an equitable and modern health system.
The NoRo Center - an example of best practice - a model of community collaboration and a benchmark in the care of patients with rare diseases, to be replicated in all regions of the country.
Together we demonstrate that Romania can build models of care aligned with European best practices, with a direct impact on the lives of patients and their families.
