CGDI Presentations at the New Frontiers in Cardiovascular Research Conference

.

From August 25-28, 2025, the Faculty of Biology of the University of Bucharest hosted the 9th International Symposium of New Frontiers in Cardiovascular Research, a major event dedicated to innovation and international collaboration in cardiovascular research. The symposium brought together world-renowned researchers and provided an interdisciplinary setting for the presentation of the latest findings with clinical and translational impact. The prestige of the event was underpinned by an international organizing committee, which included Elisa Liehn (Singapore), Liliana Burlibașa (Bucharest, Romania), Beatrice M. Radu (Bucharest, Romania), Derek J. Hausenloy (Singapore), Hector Cabrera-Fuentes (Mexico) and Klaus T. Preissner (Giessen, Germany).

The Research and Development Institute for Genomics (R & D Institute for Genomics (R & D Institute for Genomics) contributed with presentations and scientific papers that reflected the strategic and research directions of the institution. CSI Dr. Octavian Bucur, Director General of the CGDI, gave the lecture "Genomics Research and Development Institute: strategic research and translational impact", and CSI Dr. Alexandrina Burlacu, Scientific Director of the CGDI, presented "From cancer to heart fibrosis - Glioma-Pathogenesis Related Protein 1 highlights a subset of myofibroblasts responsive to mesenchymal stem cell therapy after myocardial infarction".

The CGDI was also successfully represented with posters by its young researchers: the team formed by Iulia Sabău, Alexandra Chera, Victor Ungureanu and Andrada Dragomir with the study "Unraveling therapeutic targets in CCFDN syndrome driven by the CTDP1 founder variant" and Victor Ungureanu with the paper "Three-Dimensional Reconstruction of Pulmonary Microvasculature in Group I Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension".

Participation in this symposium highlights the active role of the CGDI in promoting excellence and innovation, strengthening international collaborations and advancing Romanian research, contributing to the development of clinical solutions with real impact.
